Colonel Staff (Army) Saber Abu Sbeih is the Chemical Support Unit Commending Officer/Jordan Armed forces since June 2015. The Colonel Saber has bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, University of Jordan, and bachelor in Military Science, Mu’ta University, Jordan. In 2010, the Colonel successfully completed a Master in Defense Studies, King’s College London.
Colonel Saber joined Jordan Armed Forces as a second lieutenant in 1991, he started as a Chemical Platoon Leader. The Colonel served as a Chemical Company Commander, before he had been a Chemical Staff Officer/ Division, Directorate Level. After which Colonel served as a Chemical Staff Officer /General Inspector Bureau. The Colonel served as Directing Staff at Royal Jordanian Command and Staff College.
The Colonel has completed various internal and international courses, including Chemical Officer Basic Course/USA, Radiological Safety Course /USA, Advanced CBRN Course/ Jordan , Integrated Partner Orientation Course, NATO Defense College, Italy and Joint Command and Staff Course, UK. The Colonel has been a member of the JAF technical committee /part of Jordan National Authority for CW Convention (1998). And also The Colonel is a member of Authority for CW Convention (2015). The Colonel has planned and conducted CBRN Field exercises related to protection, Detection and Mass Casualties Decontamination Operations. Addendum to that The Colonel has participated in several Seminars, workshop and conferences on CBRN related topics. Colonel Saber represented Jordan in Global Partnership Chemical Security Working Group (CSWG), the Annual NATO Conference on WMD Arms Control, Disarmament and Non-proliferation in Helsinki 2017
