Eng. Hamad Salah Ibrahim is the Head of Radiation Protection, Department of Radiation & Chemical Protection (RCP) at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. He is responsible of several aspects of radiation protection and emergency preparedness in Qatar, ensuring that the regulatory system and management procedures are up to date and in line with the IAEA general safety requirements. Mr. Ibrahim is also the National Radiation Response office in the Marine Emergency Mutual Aid Centre (MEMAC) in Bahrain, where he is responsible for protection against radiological and nuclear accidents in regional waters. He participated in the Fifth Working Group concerning a plan of action of the nuclear emergency situations in the Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as well as the meetings of the Working Group in charge of the studies of the uses of nuclear energy. To this date, he remains a member of the GCC’s technical team, involved specifically in regional radiological and nuclear emergency planning.
