After graduating in Business Management and Computer Science at the German Armed Forces University (Munich) he held various positions in the German Air Force. Martin further graduated as General Staff Officer at the German Command and Staff College in Hamburg.
He was assigned to the Joint Staff of the Ministry of Defence to lead the german contribution to the NATO Concept Development & Experimentation programme. In this position he was german representative in various NATO Working Groups before he asked for retirement as Lieutenant Colonel (General Staff).
His industrial career brought him to IBM and Thales where he held various positions as a Senior Managing Consultant and Regional Executive for civil security and military projects. At the same time Martin was Chairman of a NATO Industrial Advisory Sub Group before he joined Bruker as the Head of ‘Civil Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection’. In 2016 Martin took over responsibility for the global military and civil security business in Bruker in his new capacity of the ‘Head of Business Unit CBRN.’ At the same time he is General Manager for Bruker Detection in China.
